Taste Profile
Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur is a luxurious Italian spirit that captivates with its rich, nutty sweetness and smooth texture. Crafted from the finest toasted hazelnuts, this liqueur offers a harmonious blend of flavors that delight the palate.
Production
To create Frangelico, premium Tonda Gentile hazelnuts from Piedmont, Italy, are toasted and crushed. The hazelnuts are then infused with neutral spirits and distilled to produce a natural hazelnut distillate. This distillate is blended with extracts of cocoa, vanilla, and coffee, and aged for 6-8 weeks to develop its smooth and balanced profile.
Taste Profile
On the nose, Frangelico presents intense aromas of roasted hazelnuts, complemented by subtle hints of vanilla and cocoa. The palate is smooth and creamy, with pronounced hazelnut flavors intertwined with notes of vanilla and dark chocolate. The finish is long and aromatic, leaving a lingering nutty sweetness.
Origin & Heritage
Originating from the Piedmont region in northern Italy, Frangelico is inspired by recipes from Christian monks who lived in the area during the 18th century. The liqueur's distinctive bottle design, resembling a friar's habit, pays homage to this rich heritage.
Serving Suggestions
Frangelico can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or as a flavorful addition to coffee and cocktails. It also pairs well with desserts, adding a delightful nutty sweetness to various dishes.
